With the Browns on the verge of being sold by Randy Lerner to Jimmy Haslam, some of you have asked which other teams could be available.

The chatter in league circles is that the teams most likely to be on the market in the not-too-distant future are the Bills, Titans, and Broncos.

The Bills and Titans are each held by their original AFL owners. ?Ralph Wilson, who initially wanted to put an AFL team in Miami, has owned the Bills since 1960. ?Bud Adams founded the Houston Oilers that same year, moving them to Tennessee 35 years later.

It?s believed that the families of Wilson, 93, and Adams, 89, will sell the franchises once they inherit ownership of them. ?Actually, Haslam had been rumored as one of the candidates to buy the Titans, given that Haslam?s family lives and works in Tennessee.

The reasons for the potential availability of the Broncos, another original AFL franchise, aren?t known. ?Owner Pat Bowlen is only 68, which makes him a spring chicken in relation to some of his colleagues. ?Rumors and reports of memory issues swirled a couple of years ago, but that talk largely has subsided. ?Some in Denver believe that, eventually, Bowlen will find a way to sell the team to V.P. of football operations John Elway, and that Elway will find a way to buy it.

Potential buyers don?t have to cut a check for $1 billion or close to that amount. ?Instead, league rules permit one person to own as little as 30 percent. ?Technically, one family may own 30 percent, with at least one person from the family owning 10 percent.

Here?s hoping the Kardashians aren?t aware of that.

The use of diagnostic imaging in Medicare patients with stage IV cancer has increased faster than among those with early-stage (stages I and II) disease, according to a study published July 30 in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

The costs of diagnostic imaging have increased more rapidly than the overall costs of cancer care, making diagnostic imaging the fastest-growing division of Medicare-reimbursed services. The net costs of cancer care are the highest in the last year of life; yet little is known about the use of high-cost imaging in cancer patients during the last year of life.

In order to determine the usage of high-cost imaging in cancer patients at the end of life, Yue-Yung Hu, M.D., M.P.H. and colleagues in the Center for Outcomes and Policy Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the Center for Surgery and Public Health at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Wisconsin Surgical Outcomes Research Program at the University of Wisconsin, looked at claims within the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER)-Medicare database between 1994 and 2009 for computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography, and nuclear medicine scans for patients diagnosed with stage IV breast, colorectal, lung, or prostate cancer between 1995-2006. The rate of imaging per-patient per-month of survival was determined for each phase of care. For reference, trends in imaging use in early-stage patients with the same tumor types during the same time period were also considered.

The researchers found that most patients with stage IV breast, colorectal, lung, and prostate cancer undergo high-cost imaging procedures throughout the course of their care and that the usage of imaging has steadily increased between 1995 and 2006. The increase may reflect a lack of guidelines in this area or the use of imaging to guide symptom management, detect disease progression and assess treatment effect. "Because scans help clinicians determine whether a change in (or cessation of) treatment is indicated, the expanding use of advanced imaging in stage IV disease is likely a manifestation of the increasing number and types of treatment options available to these patients," the authors write. "Imaging, although it often leads to (appropriate) palliative measures, may also distract patients from focusing on achievable end-of-life goals, require them to spend more of their limited time in medical care settings and/or provoke anxiety." The authors point out the importance of examining such patient-centered outcomes in future research to define the role of advance imaging in Stage IV solid tumors.

In an accompanying editorial, Drs. Robin Yabroff and Joan Warren, of the Health Services and Economics Branch at the National Cancer Institute, feel that assessing the appropriateness of care for patients with stage IV disease is complex. "Physicians tend to overestimate survival for terminally ill cancer patients, which may influence their treatment and related imaging recommendations," the editorialists write. "Development of practice guidelines for advanced imaging in patients with stage IV disease, with explicit statements about the state of evidence will be critical, particularly for care outside of the window surrounding patient diagnosis."

Maybe it?s not fair, but the responsibility for saving for our retirement has been placed upon us by a system that has made offering a traditional defined benefit pension plan prohibitively expensive for many employers.? For better or worse the 401(k) is the main retirement savings vehicle for many of us.? Unfortunately, in many cases 401(k) participants are their own worst enemy.? Here are some common 401(k) mistakes to avoid on the path to saving for your retirement:

Ignoring it.? How many stories have we seen over the past few years about plan participants who were afraid to open their statements?? The better solution is to be proactive: ?figure out an investment strategy for your retirement savings, implement that strategy, monitor your allocation, and adjust when appropriate.

Assuming that the auto enrollment percentage contribution is sufficient to meet your retirement goals.? ??Trust me, it isn?t.? Many plans auto enroll all new employees unless they opt out.? Generally the deferral percentage is low, 1% or 2% of compensation is common.? This might be a good start, but if you don?t increase your contributions you can likely count on a pretty dismal retirement lifestyle.

Not taking advantage of professional help.? Many people are uncomfortable making investment decisions for any number of reasons.? LONDON (AP) ? Hardly dreamy, still dominant.

Kevin Durant scored 22 points, LeBron James added eight assists and the U.S. Olympic men's basketball team opened tournament play with a rough-and-ragged 98-71 win over France on Sunday.

Seeking a second straight gold medal to match the one they won in Beijing four years ago, the Americans expected a tough test from a French team featuring San Antonio guard Tony Parker and five other NBA players.

The U.S. was never in real trouble, and after overcoming some major foul issues and sloppy play, the superstar-laden squad finally put France away in the second half.

Kobe Bryant had said this team could beat the 1992 Dream Team that changed international hoops forever at the Barcelona Games. That matchup is mythical, but the London Games aren't and this U.S. team will have to play much better in upcoming games if it plans to maintain American dominance.

Parker didn't want to concede anything, but when asked if the Americans can be beat, he took a contemplative pause before responding.

"They're going to be very, very tough to beat," Parker said.

With first lady Michelle Obama on hand to cheer on the U.S., Durant, Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler added nine rebounds apiece Kevin Love finished with 14 points for the Americans. The U.S. will next play Tuesday against Tunisia, beaten 60-56 by Nigeria in the tournament opener.

As they left the floor, the U.S. players stopped to hug the first lady.

Parker, playing with goggles to protect a surgically repaired left eye, scored 10 points but France, which trailed by just one point after the first quarter, fell to 0-5 in Olympic competition against the USA. Ali Traore led the French with 12 points.

With the U.S. leading 52-36 at halftime, Durant opened the second half with a 3-pointer, Bryant dropped one from long range and after James dunked an alley-oop pass from Deron Williams, the Americans led 64-43.

The U.S. team's lead ballooned to 78-51 after three quarters, allowing coach Mike Krzyzewski to rest Bryant, James and Durant for most of the fourth quarter. With the game well in hand, Krzyzewski even gave 19-year-old Anthony Davis, the top pick in June's NBA draft, his first taste of Olympic play.

Unlike his peers, Krzyzewski has the luxury of a deep bench and he was forced to go it early and often in the first half, when the Americans racked up fouls.

After the U.S. started the game by missing its first six three-point attempts, Bryant, James and Durant started finding the range from beyond the arc. The trio finished the game a combined 6 for 12 from three-point range while the rest of the U.S. went 2 for 13.

Parker nearly missed these Olympics. The 30-year-old recently underwent surgery after he was hit with broken glass during a nightclub fight in New York. Parker was not involved in the bottle-throwing melee between R&B singer Chris Brown and members of rapper Drake's entourage.

He was able to break down the U.S. defense early on, but once the Americans forced the ball from his hands, the French had no one else to turn to.

American's multimillion dollar conglomerate of hoop talent came out of the locker room singing on the way to the floor for pregame warmups. Their chants caught the attention of several Brazilian players still doing interviews following a tight opening win over Australia.

As Bryant, James and Durant filed onto the hardwood, some of France's players turned to take a look.

The U.S. players weren't nearly so jovial at halftime following a sloppy, foul-filled first half in which the Americans were whistled for 18 personals and complained about some calls. Anthony and Russell Westbrook spent the final six minutes of the second quarter on the bench after picking up their third fouls.

A few days ago, France's Ronny Turiaf likened the U.S. team's ability to play big or small to a two-faced beast.

"That team is like a Gemini," said Turiaf, who will play with Paul and the Clippers next season. "They have two faces, a nightmare-nightmare."

But the U.S. team was its own worst enemy in the first quarter. Too often, the American settled for jump shots rather than driving to the basket. The Americans missed all six 3-pointers in the opening period, and when France's Yannick Bokolo drained a 3 in the final second, France was within 22-21.

France's Nicolas Batum, who plays for the Portland Trail Blazers, said he thought after being up by only one point after the first quarter that the U.S. would "panic."

The "second quarter, it was 0-0 new game for them," Batum said. "They started to defend us, make some big shots."

James opened the second quarter with a 3 and the U.S. quickly went on an 11-0 run before it was slowed down by a rash of fouls ? several of them needless.

Fortunately for the Americans, the French made only 1 of 11 3-pointers and missed seven free throws, allowing the U.S. to take a 52-36 halftime lead.

New York, NY ? July 25, 2012 ? (RealEstateRama) ? Build NYC Resource Corporation (Build NYC) today approved approximately $75.6 million in tax-exempt financing to assist four New York City non-profits. Seaview Senior Living Housing Development Fund Corporation, a not-for-profit organization formed by The Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty and Leewood-Seaview, was approved for approximately $33.6 million in tax-exempt bonds. The proceeds from the bonds will be used by Seaview to construct a 103,000 square foot 188-bed assisted living and memory care facility and an 11,500 square foot building for social and recreational use by residents, as well as to renovate a historical landmark building for visitors . The Seaview development, to be located on a 15-acre site on Brielle Avenue between Walcott Avenue and Rockland Avenue in the Willowbrook neighborhood, is expected to break ground in fall 2012, and will create 84 new jobs once open. The three additional projects approved for tax-exempt financing were All Stars Project, Inc., The Browning School, and HealthCare Chaplaincy, Inc.

Build NYC also approved the transaction proposed by Hutch Tower Two LLC which will construct the core and shell, as well as a portion of the tenant improvements, of a 280,000 square foot office building to be located within the Hutchinson Metro Center in the Bronx. This transaction will allow Build NYC to confer a mortgage recording tax exemption of approximately $1.4 million to be passed through to Montefiore Medical Center, which will be leasing the entire building.

?With five more projects assisted this month, Build NYC continues to distinguish itself as a critical resource for City non-profits looking to reduce costs and finance new expansion projects,? said Build NYC Chairman Seth W. Pinsky. ?In particular, the financing approved for the Seaview Senior Living Housing Development marks an extraordinarily important milestone for this project, which will soon greatly benefit Staten Island?s growing senior community.?

?Met Council and Seaview Senior Living Corp are very pleased and fortunate to be working with the NYC Economic Development Corp (EDC) on the issuance of over $30 million in Build NYC Bonds for the construction of 188 affordable, assisted living beds on Staten Island,? said Met Council CEO William E. Rapfogel. ?The Seaview project is the first of its kind and the product of many years of work in partnership with EDC, the NY City Council, and our team of developers, architects, financial consultants and other professionals. All Stars Project, Inc., located at 543 West 42nd Street, is a not-for-profit organization that provides arts and cultural education activities to underserved youth. All Stars was approved for approximately $11 million in tax-exempt financing to refinance existing debt.

The Browning School, a not-for-profit private preparatory school for boys, was approved for up to approximately $11 million in tax-exempt financing to finance the renovation and expansion of the School?s main facilities at 52 East 62nd Street. The renovation and expansion of the school will include a lower level expansion to accommodate a new cafeteria, an upgraded lobby, library, technology center, science lab and art studio. The renovation and expansion project is anticipated to commence in June 2012 and is scheduled to be completed by August 2014.

HealthCare Chaplaincy, Inc., a not -for-profit organization providing services and programs relating to the research, education and practice of innovative palliative care, was approved for up to approximately $20 million in tax-exempt financing which will be used to finance the construction, renovation, furnishing and equipping of condominium units comprising approximately 51,400 square feet of office space and parking facilities located within an approximately 195,000 square foot building to be constructed at 261 South Street in Lower East Side. The facilities will include the organizations? educational, research, clinical practice and administrative facilities, and a geriatric focused outpatient health care facility to be leased to Beth Israel Medical Center. In addition to the facilities, the building will house a 120-unlt assisted living residence for palliative care patients, providing comprehensive palliative care services and programs. The Building will be known as the National Center for Palliative Care Innovation and seek a LEED certification.

NYCIDA also today approved assistance for two projects. ERY Tenant, LLC, a joint venture between The Related Companies, L.P. and Oxford Properties Group Inc., was approved for approximately $106 million, over the next 19 years, in property tax reductions as part of a planned investment of $1.268 billion to build a new 1.84 million square foot, LEED certified, class-A office tower in Hudson Yards. The development will support approximately 5,000 jobs, and create approximately 3,750 construction jobs. Overall, the project will provide an economic benefit to the City worth over $500 million. In 2006, NYCIDA?s board unanimously approved an amendment to its Uniform Tax Exemption Policy (UTEP) to help spur future development at Hudson Yards by allowing for some property tax exemptions for all eligible projects in the area. The UTEP for Hudson Yards provided that the first 5 million square feet of development (west of 10th Avenue) could receive a 40% reduction in property tax payments phasing out over 19 years.

M.Fried Store Fixtures Inc., a display and fixture importer, distributor and installer; and Sturdy Store Displays Inc., a display manufacturer, plan to invest approximately $11 million? with the assistance of approximately $4.1 million in real-estate and sales-tax exemptions?to renovate and acquire an approximately 150,000 square foot facility at 101 Varick Avenue Bryant Avenue in Brooklyn. The project will result in the creation of two new jobs, and the retention of 110 existing jobs.

LONDON (Reuters) - Four men have been arrested in connection with the ambush killings in Ivory Coast of seven U.N. peacekeepers on its border with Liberia, Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara said on Friday.

An adviser to Ouattara said the four had been arrested in Liberia and would be extradited to Ivory Coast to stand trial.

The seven United Nations peacekeepers, all from Niger, were killed on June 8 when their patrol came under fire near the town of Tai, close to the porous border, in what Ivorian authorities said was a cross-border raid.

"We have just arrested four people who perpetrated that attack and killed the seven peacekeepers," President Alassane Ouattara said during a visit to London, where he was planning to watch the Olympics opening ceremony.

He said those arrested included "the head of the operation", but gave no further information as to the identities or nationalities of the four men.

Liberian government officials said they were not immediately able to comment on Ouattara's remarks while Ivory Coast's U.N. mission, UNOCI, said it was not aware of any arrests.

A decade of north-south partition and simmering political crisis in the world's top cocoa grower ended last year with a brief but brutal civil war that erupted after former President Laurent Gbagbo refused to acknowledge defeat in 2010 polls.

Around 3,000 died before Gbagbo was captured by troops loyal to Ouattara, who were backed by French and U.N. forces. Gbagbo is in The Hague awaiting trial before the International Criminal Court accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

RIVAL SUPPORTERS

Chanting supporters and opponents of Ouattara gathered outside the venue where he spoke but were kept apart by police barriers.

Ouattara said a national commission of enquiry had completed an investigation on July 18 into crimes committed by the two warring factions during the conflict, but said he had not yet seen its findings.

"When the battle started you had atrocities committed, probably by both sides," he said. "But this needs an enquiry, that's why we set up the National Enquiry Commission...when I go back I will have the report."

The U.N. Security Council renewed UNOCI's mandate on Thursday, reducing its military force by one battalion, or around 700 to 1,000 soldiers, to just under 9,000 troops.

?We should encourage,? they said. ?We?should encourage others to succeed, never quit, to go for what they want.??

?Okay,? I replied, ?consider the proverb ?Give a man a fish and feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime.? I can encourage anyone to fish, but if they don?t have the resources to learn how, they can?t feed themselves. I empower them by teaching them how to fish and obtain the resources they need; thereby, enabling them to feed themselves. During the learning process, I?m encouraging each step of the way. We should do both.?

When we speak of empowering people, we give them authority or power to do something, or enable them to do something. By giving someone a rod and reel, a little bait, and instructions on how to fish, we?re enabling them to feed themselves . . . they have authority and power to do something about their circumstances.

Encouragement, on the other hand, provides hope or confidence, or support and advice to someone. In essence, we?re ?encouraging results.? ?While they?re learning to fish, we encourage them to continue on, imparting confidence that they can do it.

Throughout my career, I?ve considered my role as a technical trainer and professional educator to be that of a conduit who provides the tools and information learners need, whether I?m teaching adults or teenagers. I help to empower people with knowledge and the necessary skills, and encourage them to apply what they?ve learned to the job or their studies.

I see encouragement as a complement to empowerment, knowing that the two go hand-in-hand.

Empower or encourage? I say we do both.

According to forbe,"The list also contained 8.2 million unique e-mail addresses, including 3 million American accounts from the US, 2.4 million accounts from Germany, and 1.3 million accounts from France."

Gamigo warned users in early March that an attack on the Gamigo database had exposed hashed passwords and usernames and possibly other, unspecified additional personal data. The site required users to change their account passwords.

PwnedList founder Steve Thomas said,??It?s the largest leak I?ve ever actually seen. When this breach originally happened, the data wasn?t released, so it wasn?t a big concern. Now eight million email addresses and passwords have been online, live data for any hacker to see.

This breach is bigger than anything we've seen so far this year. In the last few months, there have been a slew of attacks against the following sites: LinkedIn, eHarmony, Last.fm, Yahoo, Android Forums, Formspring, and Nvidia, among others.

Gamigo users can check on PwnedList?s site whether their email address is included in the leak.

On March 1, Gamigo sent out the following e-mail to its users:

Dear Community,

As you have all already noticed, our game servers, websites and forums are partially unreachable at the moment. We would like to explain to you what happened and what has been done on our side.

There was an attack on the gamigo database in which user information, such as alias usernames and encrypted passwords were stolen. An excerpt from these was published in the gamigo forums. We detected the attack and are working to the utmost of our resources to repair the damage and determine how it happened.

Your character data, including items, is safely stored on the backup! We cannot rule out that the intruder(s) is/are still in possession of additional personal data, although to date we have received no report of any fraudulent use.

To prevent any unauthorized access to your account, we have reset all passwords for the gamigo account system and for all gamigo games!
